Dr. Jessica J. DeSimone

DVM, Veterinarian

Jessica DeSimone joined the medical team at Westfield Animal Hospital in October 2018. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she currently lives in Bridgewater, NJ. She is a general practitioner with more than 10 years of experience in the veterinary medical field. Her professional interests include nutrition, rehabilitation, and orthopedics. What Jessica enjoys most about being a veterinarian is building meaningful relationships with clients, forming lasting bonds with their pets, and educating owners to help them make the best decisions for their animals’ health.

Jessica earned her veterinary degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, where she studied from 2008 to 2011. She completed her clinical year at the University of Minnesota in 2011 and graduated in 2012. She also studied animal science abroad in Cairns, Australia. Jessica is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and has received both the Hill’s Pet Nutrition Award and the Footsteps Buddy Advocate Award.

Jessica lives at home with her husband and their rescue pets: three cats—Tally, a grey tabby rescued from Grenada; Iggy, a brown tabby rescued from New Jersey; and Fraggle, a domestic longhair tabby rescued from SARA Rescue—as well as their dog, Tali, a mixed-breed rescued from Jersey Girls Animal Rescue. Outside of the hospital, Jessica enjoys hiking, attending Broadway shows, and traveling the world with her husband.
